Individuals

  • Active Support We can develop an Active Support package that enables and empowers people to participate in all aspects of their lives
  • Life Skills The acquisition of Life skills is very important because they allow full participation in everyday life. We can assess individuals to develop packages which ensure life skills are learnt.
  • Person Centred Planning Person Centred Planning places the individual at the centre of all decisions made about their lives and seeks to discover what they want their lives to look like. Key parties are involved all the way through and a plan is developed which sets out goals and how they will be met.
  • Inclusion Building a position in the community is an extremely important part of everyday life. For some this can be very difficult and extra supported is needed. At strive we support people to engage in community environments based on their interests.
  • Reflective Practice To enable individuals to review skills and activities and develop new ones

Families

  • Functional Assessment Strive PBS will carry out detailed functional assessment to ascertain function of any challenging behaviour
  • Positive Behaviour Support Training This will cover proactive and person centred interventions; challenging beliefs; increasing positive quality of life outcomes; early intervention; Developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and some appropriate reactive strategies to behaviour that may challenge.
  • Positive Behaviour Support Plan As a result of functional analysis Strive PBS will develop, in partnership with families, an on going positive behaviour support plan. This will highlight skills that can be taught to replace any challenging behaviour and list agreed appropriate responses to challenging behaviour to minimise risk and reduce occurrence.
  • Ongoing Support If required, to ensure families are equipped with necessary tools and support to ensure longevity of the support plan.
  • Communication Assessment to ascertain individuals receptive and expressive communication. Appropriate communication aids can then be suggested and/or developed to meet individual needs.
  • Reflective Practice To enable families to reflect on their practice and develop skills.
  • Person Centred Planning Planning for the individual to increase quality of life outcomes and meet their and family’s needs effectively.
  • Engagement in Meaningful Activities Supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to engage in activity and increase range of activities.
  • Inclusion Supporting families to help engage individuals in community and social activities.
  • Family and Parent Workshops for all above and any bespoke workshops to meet family and parent needs.

Education, Day and Residential services

  • Communication support and development The correlation between communication deficits and challenging behaviour and developing appropriate communication skills to replace such behaviours; the range of modes of receptive and expressive communication; aided and non-aided modes of communication; multi-modal and total communication approaches; appropriate and person centred prescription of communication aides and devices and teaching strategies to support individuals to use them appropriately.
  • Engagement in meaningful activities How to support people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to engage in activity and how we might increase the range of activities they can be supported to participate in.
  • Person Centred Active Support Training for families and service providers. Values in action - inclusion, independence and choice; Engagement in meaningful activity and relationships; examples of disengagement; the importance of engagement; Person Centred Active Support and Person Centred Planning; Appropriately supporting individuals to engage in meaningful activity; how to develop good practice; Person Centred Action and Person Centred Planning and implementation of Person Centred Active Support.
  • Organisational development Organisational change to effectively meet the needs of the individuals we serve.
  • Positive culture development - Developing positive and proactive cultures within organisations.
  • Person Centred Planning - Developing person centred plans and implementing person centred action.
  • How to be inclusive - building and supporting relationships in the community and supporting the increase of individual's circles of support.

  • Workshops trainers have vast experience in additional interventions with young people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions including early communication skills (Intensive Interaction / Attention Autism); vocational teaching and learning (including delivering / teaching accredited programmes such as ASDAN etc); inclusive practices and activities; sensory interventions; Augmentative & Alternative Communication – AAC – (PECS / Voice Output Devices / use of visual communication systems / objects of reference etc) and a range of teaching and learning activities. Strive PBS can provide bespoke workshops for people in your care related to this.

Our Prices

Rates shown below are based on a whole day's work. If a part of a day is required, prices will be charged as a proportion of the daily rates shown. Rates will include any work engaged in away from the service, family or individual related to analysis or assessment.

Functional assessment, Intervention development
Various observations will be carried out over one day or over consecutive days for up to a week. Interviews are carried out and historical data is reviewed. This will then be analysed, and appropriate interventions will be recommended. Participants are then taught how to implement the interventions and how to continue to record data to ensure the interventions are successful. Follow up support is available at subsequent intervals. £300

Communication
Strive PBS consultants will initiate review and thorough assessment of individuals communication skills and needs, liaising with multi-disciplinary professionals, and make recommendations. Appropriate training and implementation of any new communication systems is also offered. £300

Informal consultation One hour meeting with 1 consultant. Discussion of issues and suggestions given based on conversation. No measures carried out. £55
Formal consultation Without short report 2 hour meeting with 1 consultant. Discussion of issues and MAS, QABF or other short measure and back ground screen questions to be carried out. Short report to be created and given to care givers once written. £110

Formal consultation with report 3 hour meeting with 1 consultant. Discussion of issues and O’Neil Functional Assessment Interview completed. Report written after meeting based on interview. £300
Full functional assessment 5 to 7 days to complete a full assessment of 1 individual. Using MAS/QABF O’Neil FAI, observations of individual, analysis of historical data, analysis of data taken during 5 days, hypothesis of 5 term contingency created and report written which details suggested interventions for reduction of challenging behaviour and increase in positive Quality of life (PBS plan). £1600
Implementation of FFA interventions with training for care givers Consultant to implement the interventions described in the FFA report and to give care givers training so the know how best to follow through on PBS plan. £55

Follow up of FFA Regular evaluation of interventions and outcomes with the opportunity for interventions to be manipulated where necessary. Regularity to be decided by consultant and care giver. Each follow up meeting to last 2 hours and may involve observation if necessary. £55
